UNIFORM is a portrait series and self-published photo-book that centers 26 students from 14 schools across the island of Nevis, where I was born, raised, and attended school. I photographed each student in their school clothes and interviewed them, collecting short statements that accompany the images and offer glimpses into their personalities, hopes, and daily lives. In the Caribbean, school uniforms are remnants of British colonial rule, yet they’ve come to symbolize identity, community, and ambition. With UNIFORM, I set out to reclaim and reframe these symbols through a deeply personal lens—celebrating the dignity, individuality, and potential of each child.
